How is it diagnosed?
The rate of clinical evaluation (history and physical evaluation) hits is only 30% so should take hold of the laboratory, the misleading, bacterial cultures, biopsies and occasionally laparoscopic surgery.
- Prevention of infertility and chronic complications
- Prevention of death
Most of the patient can be treated on an outpatient basis, but in some cases hospitalization is indicated if there is severe disease symptoms, signs of peritonitis or pelvic abscess, sepsis, adolescent patients or conditions preclude oral and/or outpatient treatment
The treatment lasts between 14 and 21 days, usually with a combination of 2 antibiotics.
Once home the treatment continued orally.
Sometimes a posterior laparoscopic pelvic surgery is required to release the adhesions that caused infection in order to eliminate the residual chronic pelvic pain or correct infertility due to injury of fallopian tubes
Complications
- Infertility (for ovarian and/or tubal or endometrial lesion.
- Ectopic pregnancy.

Pelvic pain accompanied by fever and malaise suggests a severe or acute process.
In a lot of cases, especially acute and febrile, the picture may be associated with vaginal discharge (vaginal discharge) stink. In some cases the flow, fever and pelvic pain appear immediately after menstruation.
The treatment is highly effective and can prevent complications if the patient is treated early.
